Hominada

Told ya’ – chunky is good.

This recipe (as well as hominy) was introduced by Deanius (one of his few brilliant ideas…kidding). This recipe probably should be eaten as an appetizer but we eat it like a meal.

This is one dish that’s a camping-worthy dinner (omit ground beef for convenience). Unfortunately this is probably one recipe to attract bears too…

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 can of mild green chilies (or use half a chopped and seeded jalepeno for those spicy-lovers out there)
1 can ranch style beans
1 can golden hominy
1 can turkey chile with no beans

Directions

Saute ground beef and chilies until thoroughly cooked. Drain additional liquid and fat.

Mix in the canned ingredients and heat until boiling. Serve with tortilla chips or in a bread bowl!
