So I could have made them…but sometimes you just want to fork over a few bucks and say “feed me!” Instant gratification. I love it.
I’ve had dreams (or nightmares – when you wake up and realize you really didn’t eat any) about dan ta – I was due for a trip up to Irvine.
These tarts are similar to the Portugese egg tarts (pastel de nata). A flaky layered crust filled with a filling that resembles creme brulee but with an eggy/custard flavor. I don’t know how to describe it…just eat one!
I’m definitely getting these when I head back to the Bay Area.
